Global projects

For decades, DIAG has stood for quality and reliability along the value chain in the realization of large-scale projects all over the world: the focus continues to be on the energy sector. These recently include the repair of a compressor station in Ukraine under the most difficult conditions, the construction of a gas compressor station in Bulgaria, gas power plants in the Caribbean, Floating production, storage and offloading units (FPSOs) off the coast of Brazil, wind farms in Mongolia or the current development of a fertilizer factory in Nepal.

DGI provides the processing platform for business in Ukraine

In spite of the war and the associated difficulties, DIAG's subsidiary DG Industries completed an important project for Ukraine. After almost seven years of construction, a compressor station for the Soyuz gas pipeline was handed over to the operating company at the beginning of 2024. The new plant is much more efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly. DG Industries has the necessary infrastructure and permits in Ukraine to develop and implement complex projects from abroad and sees itself in a position to build bridges in two senses, not least with regard to the reconstruction of the country.

    Fertilizer Factory in Nepal

On 13 July 2023, DIAG and the government of Nepal signed a letter of intent for the construction of a fertilizer factory with an annual production capacity of 700,000 tons of fertilizer. The factory is intended to replace fertilizer imports and end the country’s dependence on expensive imports.

Since 2020, DIAG and its local partners have been working with the Investment Board of Nepal, which represents the Nepalese government, on a strategic plan to realize the project. The project is to be understood as a cooperation between the public and private sectors in the form of a public-private partnership (“PPP”). The newly established “DIAG Surya Green Fertilizer Company Pvt. Ltd” will conduct an initial study to identify the most suitable technology for fertilizer production in the country, including how Nepal’s surplus green energy could be used for fertilizer production.

The plan is to complete the first round of studies by 2024, initiate project development for the selected technology solution and ensure commissioning of the plant by the end of 2028.
